GNYCC Hosts National Small Business Week Events

Mark Jaffe, President and CEO of the Greater New York Chamber of Commerce (GNYCC) and Dr. Roy Hastick, President and Founder of the Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce (CACCI) co-hosted 200 small business leaders eager to network and learn about resources that local, city, state, federal agencies have for Chamber members to help them establish and grow their business.
Speakers included Rachel David from the U.S. Department of Labor, Brenda Stuart-Luke, an IRS Taxpayer Advocate, Man-Li Lin from the US Small Business Administration (SBA), Rick Miranda from the Brooklyn Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Raquel Hickey from the Columbian American Chamber of Commerce of Long Island (CACCLI), Mwisa Chisunka New York State Business Ombudswoman and Mark Jaffe of the Greater New York Chamber of Commerce.
Highlighting the event, Man-Li Lin of the US SBA, Dr. Roy Hastick and Mark Jaffe signed a memorandum to promote the services of the US Small Business Administration. The National Small Business Week Cocktail Reception Kickoff was just one of the many events hosted by the GNYCC designed to highlight how to use government resources and identify the needs of the small business community.
Hosts of the event included the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), SCORE, New York State Department of Taxation and Finance, the Brooklyn Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Columbian American Chamber of Commerce of Long Island, and the New York City Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
The last event celebrating the Small Business Week, was held in Westchester at the Rye House in Port Chester. It was attended by Mayor of Port Chester Dennis Pilla as well as Fannie Aleman of Westchester Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and Ken Manning of Rye Brook – Port Chester – Rye Town Chamber of Commerce. It was sponsored by 1800Fix and New York RX Card.
Since 1964, National Small Business Week has been honoring and celebrating the small businesses of America. The Greater New York Chamber of Commerce is proud to work with various government agencies, local chambers, organizations, businesses and civic leaders to recognize, honor, and provide small business leaders with opportunities to help them grow and save money.
